OXFORD, Miss. - In 100 degree heat, the Ole Miss football team continued preparations for the season opener against Tulane, Wednesday afternoon, working out in shorts and shoulder and thigh pads.

"After reviewing the tape from the scrimmage, I thought we made some progress on both sides of the ball with a number of people," head coach David Cutcliffe said. "We didn't have a lot of contact in this practice with just shoulder and thigh pads, but we got some work done.

"The biggest thing we've had to do is push through 100 degree temperatures day after day," Cutcliffe said. "We held the tempo for the most part, but we've got to get several people back to 100 percent, if they're going to be ready for the first game."

The premier of the "David Cutcliffe Radio Call-In Show" will air Thursday night statewide throughout Mississippi on the Ole Miss Radio Network. The one-hour show, which begins at 6 p.m., will air live from Tico's Restaurant in Jackson.

Fans can also listen to the call-in show through the internet by going to the University's official athletic website at www.OleMissSports.com.

Listeners may speak with Coach Cutcliffe by calling the show at 1-888-808-8637, or in Jackson at 952-0986. Bell South Mobility and Cellular South customers can call in free by dialing *222.

Next Thursday, August 31, the weekly show will return to the Downtown Grill on the Oxford square for the remainder of the season.
