Chad Dixon Earns Conference Award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss' Chad Dixon was named Southeastern Conference Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week Tuesday, as announced by the league office.
Dixon, a senior from West Plains, Mo., finished in seventh place at the Arkansas Pizza Inn-dian Invitational with a time of 21:02.6 to lead the Rebels to their highest finish of the season (third place). Dixon's seventh place finish was also his best of the season.
"Chad is having a great season," said assistant cross country coach Doug Blackwell. "We will be counting on him all year to lead the team and he is doing all the necessary things a leader needs to do right now."
The Ole Miss cross country teams will take this weekend off, before competing at the Southern Miss Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 6, in Hattiesburg, Miss.
