Ole Miss Volleyball Falls To Arkansas, 3-0

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas' Eftila Tanellari recorded 13 kills and Anna Velikanova added 12 kills and 11 digs to lead the Lady Razorbacks to a 3-0 Southeastern Conference volleyball victory over Ole Miss Sunday afternoon. Arkansas won the match by scores of 30-26, 30-15 and 30-16.
With the victory, the Lady Razorbacks improved to 12-6 overall and 9-0 in the league. Ole Miss' record now stands at 5-14 overall and 1-8 in SEC play.
Lady Rebel freshman Elena Garcia led Ole Miss with nine kills and 12 digs. Senior Jaime Burns added six kills and 13 digs.
Ole Miss jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead in the first game, but the Lady Razorbacks fought back to regain the advantage. With the contest tied at 26-all, Arkansas scored the next four points to take the first game 30-26, and Ole Miss was unable to recover in the match.
Arkansas hit .328 for the match, while Ole Miss hit .059. Lady Rebel junior Cheryl Wilson recorded 17 assists to lead Ole Miss.
The Lady Rebels return to action next weekend with home matches against Kentucky (Oct. 26) and Tennessee (Oct. 28). Game time for the Friday match is 7:00 p.m. (CT), while Sunday's contest is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. (CT) start. Both matches will be played at the Gillom Sports Center.
