OLE MISS POSTGAME QUOTES
HEAD COACH DAVID CUTCLIFFE
"I thought they (ASU) did an outstanding job. They had two weeks of preparation and they did a lot of things on defense that we hadn't seen. They played hard. They played well on offense. I knew Jonathan Adams was a good football player and I thought he played extremely well. They did a lot of positive things. At times, we played well but we've got a lot of things to fix."
On running backs Charles Stackhouse and Toward Sanford
"They both ran physical and they're giving us some punch back there that we need. I like the ability they have to play both positions, tailback and fullback. They can catch the football. They'll make plays for you and they've both been consistent in practice. I think Eli (Manning) and the rest of the offensive team have a lot of confidence in them."
RUNNING BACK CHARLES STACKHOUSE
"We're just trying to get better and make the most of every game and whenever they make my call, I've got to go in and do what they tell me to do."
On playing near his hometown of West Memphis, Arkansas
"Coming in, I had about 30 tickets for my family and I had a lot of family here today, and all the people I went to high school with. It's a lot closer for them to come see me play. They really got a chance to see me play."
On ASU running back Jonathan Adams
"I talked to Jonathan Adams after the game and we caught up on things. I told him he was doing a good job running the ball as you can see from tonight. He's a really great running back and doing a lot of good things."
QUARTERBACK ELI MANNING
"I thought Arkansas State played really hard. They challenged us. Arkansas State played hard the whole game and never gave up at any point. We've got to go back and keep getting better."
On being the fastest Ole Miss quarterback to throw for 1,000 yards
"Give credit to the offensive line and receivers for making plays, the play-calling and everything. It's just something you go out there, you don't really try to do. You just go out there and compete, and if it happens, it's something that's nice to have."

HEAD COACH JOE HOLLIS
"We didn't win. That's the main objective, to win. From my viewpoint as the head coach, you want great effort and we got great effort. We extended ourselves. I think that was very evident. We didn't play flawless by any means. We wasted too many timeouts, we had some youthful mistakes."
"I said all along that Eli Manning was a real good football player and they're very good at receiver. They converted some third downs on their first drive. Jonathan (Adams) had a yeoman day. Our offensive line played very well. We moved the football consistently.
"The whole philosophy we felt like we could run the football on them. We felt like we could by physical against them and we were. Our quarterbacks are pretty good football players too. Our assistant coaches did a good job of putting our game plan together. We were focused during the last two weeks. We executed the plan defensively.
"Anytime you can run the football with any consistency, you should be able to throw the football off a hard play action. We're still struggling a little bit with some consistency out of our young quarterbacks.
"We just didn't win the football game. We don't have anything to hang our heads about. We've got something we need to build from, not hang our heads about it."
