OLE MISS POSTGAME NOTES

SERIES INFO: Tonight's meeting was the 20th all-time between Ole Miss and Arkansas State and the first ever played in Jonesboro. The Rebels now lead the series 17-1-2 and have won nine straight against the Indians dating back to a 10-10 in 1986.

NOTING ELI
∙, Sophomore QB Eli Manning passed for 269 yards to become the fastest player in school history to reach 1,000 yards passing for a season. Tonight was the Rebels' fourth game of the season. The previous record was five, set five times previously, by Archie Manning in 1970, Josh Nelson in 1994 and 1995, Stewart Patridge in 1997 and Romaro Miller in 1998. Manning cracked the 1,000-yard mark with an 18-yard completion to Jamie Armstrong on his first pass attempt of the third quarter.
∙, Eli Manning's 269-yard passing performance made him the first quarterback in school history to record four straight 250-yard passing games.
∙, With two TD passes tonight, QB Eli Manning has thrown a TD pass in five straight games dating back to last December's Music City Bowl. The school record for consecutive games with a TD pass is eight held by Archie Manning and Romaro Miller. During Eli's current five-game streak, he has thrown 13 TD passes.

REBEL NOTEBOOK
∙, Tonight's 35-10 win marked Ole Miss' 21st consecutive regular-season win over a non-conference opponent dating back to a 38-0 win over Tulane on Nov. 12, 1994. The last time the Rebels lost a non-conference game in the regular season was on Nov. 5, 1994, 17-16 to Memphis in Oxford. Ole Miss is 5-0 against Arkansas State during the 21-game streak.
∙, Ole Miss is now 23-1-2 all-time against schools that are competing in the inaugural season of the Sun Belt Conference. North Texas and UL-Lafayette are the other two SBC schools Ole Miss has played. The Rebels are 4-0 all-time against the Mean Green and 2-0 versus the Ragin Cajuns.

OFFENSIVE NOTES
∙, Senior WR Omar Rayford caught one pass tonight for 14 yards to extend his streak to 14 consecutive games with a reception.
∙, Senior Charles Stackhouse set career highs for rushing attempts and rushing yards, carrying 18 times for 71 yards and a TD, while making his first career start at tailback.
∙, Junior Toward Sanford has scored six TDs, (five rushing) in the last two games. Sanford scored three TDs last weekend at Kentucky, on three one-yard runs, and scored three TDs tonight against Arkansas State. Sanford scored on a two-yard run, a two-yard pass from Eli Manning, and another two-yard run.
∙, Toward Sanford carried a career-high 11 times for 37 yards. Sanford also tied a career-high with three receptions for 31 yards to finish with 68 total yards from scrimmage.
∙, With 35 points tonight, Ole Miss has scored 30 or more points in five of its last six games dating back to last year's 45-30 win over Mississippi State in the regular-season finale.

DEFENSIVE NOTES
∙, The Rebels are now 12-0 under Head Coach David Cutcliffe when allowing less than 20 points in a game.
∙, Junior Germain Landrum, junior Ryan Hamilton and true freshman Eric Oliver made their first career starts tonight on defense. Landrum started at WLB, Hamilton at defensive end and Oliver made the start at free safety in place of Von Hutchins, who moved to strong safety in place of the injured Marcus Woodson.

SPECIAL TEAMS TIDBITS
∙, Jonathan Nichols' 46-yard FG attempt in the third quarter was the first of Nichols' career, and the first in four games by the Rebels this season. Nichols missed wide right on the attempt.
∙, Jonathan Nichols was 5-of-5 on extra points tonight, and has made all 21 of his attempts this season.

ARKANSAS STATE POSTGAME NOTES

,Jonathan Adams
∙, Rushed a career-high 30 times for 173 yards. The 173 yards rushing marks the second-most yards in a game for Adams in his career.
∙, Adams now has 2,316 yards rushing in his career, moving him past former ASU QB Roy Johnson and Dwayne Brown into seventh on the all-time ASU rushing list. Adams needs just 25 yards to pass Corey Walker for sixth.
∙, Adams' 173 yards rushing was his ninth career 100-yard rushing game.

ASU Defense
∙, The Indian defense has forced at least one turnover in each of the last eight games after recovering a Joe Gunn fumble on the ASU 4.

James Hickenbotham
∙, Hickenbotham's 94 kickoff return yards gives him 971 yards for his career, good enough for sixth on ASU's all-time KOR yardage charts.
∙, Hickenbotham had a season-high 179 all-purpose yards against Ole Miss.

ASU Offense
∙, The Indians rushed for a season-high 241 yards. That total is the most since tallying 291 yards rushing against Nevada in the last game of the 1999 season.
∙, The 392 yards of offense are a season-high for the Indians and the most since the final game of the 2000 season, against North Texas, when the Indians ended with 406.
