OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss baseball will hold a Red-Blue intrasquad scrimmage Friday night at 6:30 p.m, at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field. Admission to the scrimmage is free.

Friday's scrimmage wil give fans an opportunity to catch a preview of this year's recruiting class that was ranked as the sixth-best in the nation by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. In addition to a strong recruiting class, the Rebels return second team All-American outfielder Burney Hutchinson and All-Southeastern Conference performers in designated hitter/first baseman Josh Christian and right-handed pitcher Pete Montrenes from a team that finished 39-23-1 a year ago, and advanced to an NCAA Regional.

Ole Miss is in its final week of fall practice, which began back on Sept. 17. The Rebels are scheduled to open their 2002 season on Friday, Feb. 15 against Jacksonville State.
