Lady Rebel Basketball To Open Season At Tennessee Tech

OXFORD, Miss. - ,The Ole Miss women's basketball squad will travel to Cookeville, Tenn., to take on the Tennessee Tech Golden Eaglettes in the season opening game for both teams. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Eblen Center.

The Lady Rebels are coming off an 83-53 win over the Houston Jaguars in their second and final exhibition game of the 2001-02 season. Sophomore forward Tywanna Inmon paced Ole Miss with a double-double in the game scoring 14 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Freshman guard Carletta Brown added 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field, including 4-of-6 from the three-point line.

Tennessee Tech finished is coming off a 24-6 season in 2000-01. The Golden Eaglettes are led by senior All-American candidate Janet Holt. Holt, a two-time Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year, averaged 24.6 points and 9.8 rebounds a year ago.

Ole Miss will return to Oxford for their home-opener on Monday, Nov. 19, when they host Murray State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Tad Smith Coliseum.
