OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball program announced the signing of Katie Griffin from Austin, Texas, to a national letter of intent Wednesday. She will begin competing for the Lady Rebels during the 2002-03 academic year.

Griffin, a 5-9 setter, just completed her senior year of competition at McCallum High School. She is a member of the Austin Junior Volleyball Club Team, which finished third in the 18-under USAV Open Championships last year.

She joins fellow Austin native Elena Garcia, who just concluded her freshman year for the Lady Rebels. Both were teammates on the Austin Junior Club Team.

Griffin, an outstanding student-athlete, plans to major in Forensic Chemistry at Ole Miss.
