Ole Miss Men's Tennis Loses Second Straight

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team lost its second straight match at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships, falling to No. 2 Tennessee, 4-2, in the consolation bracket, Friday. With the loss, the Rebels fall to 4-2 on the year.
For the second straight day, the Rebels lost the opening doubles point to fall behind 1-0 early. Tennessee's team of Adam Carey and Mark Parsons defeated James Shortall and Kristofer Stahlberg 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, and then Simon Rea and Andy Crews beat Paul Ciorascu and Conor Casey 8-6 at the third spot.
In singles, Alex Hartman picked up his second win over a ranked opponent this week as he defeated 59th-ranked Parsons 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Tennessee's Mario Toledo held off Shortall 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
Stahlberg picked up a straight-set win over the Vols' Adam Carey, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 3 singles. But that was all the Rebels would get on the day, as Paul Podbury defeated Martin Selin 6-3, 6-2, at No. 4 singles, and Wade Orr rallied to beat Patrick Chucri 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 6 position for the win.
The Rebels will meet the loser of the San Diego State/VCU match Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
