LAST TIME OUT: Ole Miss hit a combined eight home runs in Wednesday's doubleheader against SE Louisiana, and freshman RHP Adam Yates tossed a seven-inning one-hitter in the nightcap as the Rebels swept the Lions, 20-9 and 9-0. In game one, Ole Miss overcame a 6-1 deficit by scoring nine runs in the third inning. Josh Christian, Matt Tolbert and Kris Cox all homered in the inning. Tolbert's home run was three-run shot to tie the game at 6-6, and he later added another three-run blast in the sixth to finish the game 3-for-4 with seven RBI. In game two, Yates faced the minimum as he allowed just a one-out single in the second and walked one batter in earning his first career win during his first career start. Yates got all the run support he needed in the second when Burney Hutchinson led-off the inning with a solo home run and Charlie Waite later added a RBI single.

SCOUTING THE INDIANS: SEMO is 3-0 on the year after sweeping Iowa State last weekend in Cape Girardeau. The Indians batted .268 in the series with one HR and 11 RBI. Junior 2B Clemente Bonilla went 6-for-9 against the Cyclones, and sophomore SS Zach Borowiak was 6-for-10 to pace SEMO at the plate. SEMO pitching held Iowa State to just six runs in the series, with only four earned. The Cyclones batted .159 and struck out 19 times in the three games.
