GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Ole Miss track teams fared well against a top notch field at the Gator Invitational on Saturday. Overall, Ole Miss had one automatic qualifying mark for the NCAA Indoor Championships and four provisional qualifying marks.

Senior Savante' Stringfellow led the way for the Rebels as he won the long jump with a new meet record leap of 27-0. The distance is not only a personal indoor best for Stringfellow, but also a new Ole Miss record and is the longest indoor jump in the nation this year.

Sophomore James Shelton tied his personal and school record in winning the 55 meters with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.26. Also provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships for the Rebels was freshman Kendrick Triggs in the 200 meters (21.39). In just the fourth meet of his career, Triggs broke the Ole Miss record in the 200 meters with his third place finish at the Gator Invitational.

The Ole Miss men's distance medley relay team took first place, while sophomore Stacy Andrews placed third in the weight throw (58-7.25).

On the women's side, senior Teneeshia Jones again led the way as she set two school records and placed in all three of her events. Jones set new Ole Miss records in the 55 meters (6.83, 1st) and the 55-meter hurdles (7.76, 2nd), provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships in both events. The Shannon, Miss., native also took fifth place in the 200 meters (24.27).

Lady Rebel senior Brandy Barnett finished second in the high jump (5-8). Junior Monique McClure did not place in the shot put, but set a new Ole Miss record with her personal best toss of 45-4.25.

The 11th-ranked Lady Rebels and 16th-ranked Rebels will return to action next weekend when they travel to Indianapolis, Ind., for the Butler University Invitational.
