Ole Miss Tracksters Compete At LSU Triangular

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Ole Miss track and field teams opened the 2001 outdoor season on Saturday at the SEC Triangular hosted by LSU. Florida completed the field.

The Lady Rebels collected three first-place finishes as Teneeshia Jones took first in the 400 meters (55.70), Brandy Mack won the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.01) and Brandy Barnett was the top finisher in the high jump (5-7).

The Ole Miss women also had four second-place finishes: Willette Woods (200m, 24.46), April Rembert (400 hurdles, 1:03.07), the 4x100-meter relay team (45.23) and the 4x400-meter relay team (3:49.21).

The Rebels had two first-place finishes as Lawrence Wade won the 400 meters (48.02) and the 4x400-meter relay team took first (3:12.85).

The Ole Miss men collected seven second-place finishes: Aaron Fenzel (400m, 48.22), Dominik Fuhrmann (1500m, 3:54.20), Chad Dixon (5,000m, 15:02.37), Daniel Landrum (long jump, 22-05.25), Walt Sligh (shot put, 49-11.25), the 4x100-meter relay team (40.82), 4x400-meter relay team (3:12.85).
