Rebel Netters Conclude Road Trip With Win

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The No. 17 nationally-ranked Ole Miss men's tennis team concluded its spring break road trip with a 4-0 win over West Florida, ranked No. 3 in Division II. The Rebels improved to 8-3 on the season.

Ole Miss wasted little time in taking care of the Argonauts. James Shortall and Kristofer Stahlberg dominated Radovan Chrz and Will Brown, 8-1 at No.1 doubles. Alex Hartman and Patrick Chucri downed Rodolfo Varela and Alvero Flores, 8-1 at No. 2 doubles to give the Rebels a 1-0 lead.

The Rebels never let up from there, claiming victories at the Nos. 2, 4 and 6 spots for the win. Hartman cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win over Varela at No. 2 singles, Martin Selin defeated Brown 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4 singles and then Patrick Chucri wrapped it up by beating Dave Katz, 6-3 6-3 at No. 6 singles.

Ole Miss concluded its spring break road trip 2-1 after a close loss at Alabama (4-3) and a 4-3 win over Auburn. The Rebels will begin a five-match homestand next week, as they host Indiana University, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.
