TEAM NOTES
* At 9-3 in the SEC, Ole Miss is all alone atop the overall SEC standings, one-game ahead of LSU and Tennessee, after four conference weekends.
* The 9-3 conference start is the best by the Rebels since 1972 when they were 11-1 after 12 SEC games.
* This weekend's 2-1 series victory over Georgia marked Ole Miss' third straight conference series win after dropping 2-of-3 to Kentucky on the first weekend of SEC play, Mar. 9-11.
* Since the Kentucky series, Ole Miss has gone 8-1 inside the SEC with a pair of three-game sweeps at Auburn, Mar. 16-18, and against Alabama in Oxford, Mar. 23-25.
* Ole Miss is 12-2 this season in games decided by two runs or less, including 8-1 in one-run contests.
* Ole Miss turned six double plays in the final two games of the Georgia series, including four on Saturday. The four twin killings was the most turned by the Rebels since recording four at Austin Peay on Apr. 28, 1999.
* The Rebels went 13-5-1 in March, marking their best month since going 15-5 in April during the 1999 season.
* Junior OF Burney Hutchinson was just 2x8 in this weekend versus Georgia, but drew five walks, including three on Friday night, to give him a .538 on-base average for the series. Hutchinson has reached base safely in 17consecutive games, and in 31-of-32 games this season.
* Sophomore SS Chad Sterbens was 3x4 Sunday to extend his hitting streak to a career-best nine games. It is the longest streak by a Rebel this season. Sterbens led Ole Miss in hitting during March with a .381 average (24x63).
* Following Tuesday's home game with Memphis, Ole Miss will play its next seven on the road starting Friday at Arkansas. Also in that seven-game stretch is a visit to Hattiesburg against in-state rival Southern Miss (Wed., Apr. 11) and a three-game series in Baton Rouge, La., against LSU.
