OXFORD, Miss. - After a 4-1 week, that including a Southeastern Conference series victory over Vanderbilt in Nashville, the Ole Miss baseball team moved up one spot to No. 9 in this week's Collegiate Baseball Top 30 poll. The No. 9 ranking is the highest in any poll for the Rebels since finishing the 1972 season ranked No. 8 in the final Collegiate Baseball poll.
The Rebels stayed at No. 15 in the Baseball America Top 25, while jumping one spot to No. 21 in the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches Top 25.
Ole Miss is 34-14-1 on the season, including 16-8 in the SEC. The Rebels are in second place in the SEC Western Division and in the overall conference standings, one game behind LSU.
Ole Miss will host Mississippi Valley State Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field in a make-up game for the Rebels' Feb. 27 contest with UT-Martin that was canceled due to rain. Ole Miss and MVSU originally tried to play the make-up contest on Mar. 20 but was postponed due to inclement weather.
All general admission tickets for Tuesday's game will be $1, and fans can also use any unused tickets from this year. Children 12 and under are invited to take the field with the Rebels prior to the national anthem. Kids wishing to participate need to be at the stadium by 6:15 p.m.
