Ole Miss Golf Finishes Fifth At Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate

OPELIKA, Ala.- After completing Saturday's second round of the 2001 Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate in fourth place, the Ole Miss men's golf team finished the weekend in fifth place. The Rebels' fifth place finish was Ole Miss' ninth top-five finish and their 10th top 10 finish of the season.
The Rebels finished the weekend with a 54-hole total of 288-291-292 .871. Auburn took the team championship with a 285-285-281 .851.
Ole Miss was led by Tommy Clement who finished tied for 12th place with a 72-72-73 .217. The 54-hole total of 217 is a career-best for Clement. Andrew Medley (74-74-71) and Phil Caravia (70-72-77) finished the weekend tied for 21st place.
Troy Muller fired a 54-hole total of 75-73-73 .221 to tie for 28th place. J.J. Thompson tied for 37th place with a 72-77-75 .224.
The Rebels will be back in action on April 20-22, when they travel to Sea Island, Ga., to play in the 2001 SEC Championships.
