Ole Miss Softball Loses To Florida, 4-2

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida rallied for three runs in the sixth inning to steal the series win from Ole Miss, 4-2, Sunday at Florida Softball Stadium. Florida earns the series win, 2-1, after a split in Saturday's doubleheader.
Ole Miss (17-28, 4-11 SEC) struck first with an Amanda Lehotak solo home run in the third inning. It was the second career homer for Lehotak, who batted .500 (5-for-10) with three runs-scored in the series.
After Florida (31-17, 11-10 SEC) tied the game with a run in the fourth, the Rebels picked up another score in the fifth with Holly Burris singling home Jamie Cummings for a 2-1 Ole Miss lead. Burris and Cummings each collected two hits on the day.
The Gators took their first lead with three in the sixth and held on for the win. Prissie Walden's two-run double highlighted UF's game-winning rally.
Florida starter Renise Landry (16-9) scattered seven hits over 6.1 innings in the win. Amanda Moore tossed the final two outs for her first save of the season.
Jennifer Hughes (9-10), who picked up the win in game one of the series, suffered the complete game loss, scattering nine hits and four runs over six innings.
Ole Miss continues its nine-game SEC road swing next weekend at No. 3 Alabama. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 5 p.m. (CT), while the Sunday finale is set for 1.
