Barnett And Mack Compete At Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga. - Ole Miss seniors Brandy Barnett and Brandy Mack were in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday to compete at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Both seniors have provisionally qualified for the 2001 NCAA Outdoor Championships in their respective events, but were looking to improve their marks.
Barnett competed in the high jump, tying for 11th place by clearing 5-3.75. Here season's best mark remains at 5-10.50. Mack competed in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing seventh overall and third among collegians by clocking in at a season's best time of 58.72. Mack's previous season's best mark was 58.89.
Barnett and Mack will await word from the NCAA to see if they officially qualified for the NCAA Championships to be held in Eugene, Ore., May 31-June 3. Fellow seniors Teneeshia Jones (100 meters, 200 meters, 100-meter hurdles), Tisha Parker (200 meters) and Savante' Stringfellow (long jump, 200 meters) are automatic qualifiers for the championships.
