REBEL TOURNEY NOTES: This is Ole Miss' eighth appearance in the an NCAA Regional, and its third since 1995 ...The Rebels' last regional appearance came in 1999 at the College Station Regional, hosted by Texas A&M and went 1-2 ... Ole Miss is 20-9 (.690 winning percentage) all-time in NCAA Regional play after defeating Southern University-Baton Rouge 10-2 this morning ... The win over the Jaguars improved the Rebels to 11-3 (.786) in elimination games during the NCAA Regionals, and are now 19-14 (.576 winning percentage) all-time in elimination games in the SEC Tournament, NCAA Regionals and College World Series ... Friday's 5-4 loss to Oklahoma State marked the Rebels' fourth consecutive loss in a regional opener.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA STATE: The Cowboys entered this afternoon's game against Tulane at 41-20. They were hitting .309 as a team led by junior INF Nebasett Brown's .372 (77x207) BA. Senior OF Luke Scott was hitting .314 (65x207) and led the team with 18 HRs and 56 RBIs. OSU also entered today having stole 80 bases in 99 attempts. Cowboy pitchers entered today with a staff ERA of 4.32 and opponents were hitting .246 against them with 48 HRs.

SERIES INFO: This would be the third-ever meeting between the Rebels and Cowboys. Oklahoma State leads the series 2-0, defeating Ole Miss 4-3 in the 1993 Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, La., and 5-4 in 10 innings Friday here at the 2001 New Orleans Regional.

REBELS VERSUS THE BIG 12: Ole Miss is 18-23 (.439 winning percentage) all-time against the Big 12 Conference, including 0-2 versus Oklahoma State. In postseason play, the Rebels are 0-4 against schools that currently play baseball in the Big 12, losing twice to Texas in the 1969 CWS (14-1) and the 1972 CWS (9-8), once to Texas A&M (13-7) at the 1999 College Station Regional, and to Oklahoma State (5-4) in 10 innings on Friday. The following is Ole Miss' all-time record against individual Big 12 schools: Baylor 1-4 (.200), Kansas State 10-5 (.667), Missouri 3-4 (.429), Oklahoma 2-2 (.500), Oklahoma State 0-2 (.000), Texas 1-3 (.250), Texas A&M 1-3 (.250).

SCOUTING TULANE: The No. 1 seed and host Green Wave entered today 51-10 on the year after pounding Southern 22-9 Friday night. Tulane was hitting .336 as a team entering the Oklahoma State game with 74 HRs and had outscored the opposition 579-331. Senior INF Andy Cannizaro and senior OF Matt Groff both were hitting a team-best .376 coming into today, while junior INF Jake Gautreau was batting .355 with a team-leading 20 HRs and 87 RBIs. Green Wave pitchers had a staff ERA of 4.28 coming into today, and opponents were hitting .266 against them with 43 HRs.

SERIES INFO: This would be the 91st meeting all-time between Ole Miss and Tulane dating back to 1902 ... The Rebels lead the series 63-27, however, the two teams have split the last 12 games dating back to 1980. Tulane won the last meeting between the two schools, 8-6, in the 1999 Winn-Dixie Classic at the Louisiana Superdome ... Tonight's game would mark the Rebels' first-ever game against the Green Wave at Turchin Stadium since the facility opened in 1991 ... Ole Miss' last four games versus Tulane in New Orleans since 1990 have all been played at the Louisiana Superdome ... The Rebels are 42-12 all-time versus the Green Wave in Oxford, 18-15 in New Orleans (including games at the Louisiana Superdome), and 3-0 at neutral sites (Tuscaloosa, Ala., Clarksdale, Miss., and Jackson, Miss.).

REBELS VERSUS C-USA: Ole Miss is 209-113 (.630 winning percentage) all-time versus schools that currently play baseball in Conference USA, including a 63-27 (.700) record against Tulane. Tonight would be Ole Miss' first-ever postseason game against a C-USA school. The following is Ole Miss' record against individual C-USA schools: Houston 2-0 (1.000), Louisville 3-1 (.750), Memphis 70-45 (.609), St. Louis 3-0 (1.000), Southern Miss 57-32 (.640), Tulane 63-27 (.700), UAB 11-8 (.579).

THIS MORNING AGAINST SOUTHERN: Senior RHP Ronnie Goodwin pitched a complete game three hitter, allowing just unearned runs to pitch the Rebels to a 10-2 win in this morning's elimination game. Burney Hutchinson was 2x4 with two HRs and tied a career-high with four RBIs, and Josh Christian went 2x5 with a solo HR to lead the Rebels' nine-hit attack.

IN THE POLLS: Ole Miss enters this evening's game ranked No. 23 in this week's Collegiate Baseball Top 30. It is the 10th straight week the Rebels have been ranked in one of the three major college baseball polls. Oklahoma State is unranked while Tulane is No. 5 in Baseball America and the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches polls, and No. 6 in the Collegiate Baseball Top 30.

REBEL DIAMOND NOTES: This evening's is the Rebels' 63rd of the year to set a new school record for games played in a season ... With 39 wins, Ole Miss is one shy of tying the 1995 for the most wins in school history ... With 10 runs in this morning's game with Southern, the Rebels eclipsed the school record of 424 runs scored in a season, set in 1998 and 1999. Ole Miss enters tonight's game with 432 runs scored ... The Rebels went 3x13 as a team with runners in scoring position during this morning's game, and are 5x28 (.179) in two games during the New Orleans Regional, and are 9x46 (.196) in their last five games ... With Friday's 5-4 loss to Oklahoma State, Ole Miss has four of its last five one-run games.

* Made his first start on a SEC weekend since 1999 at LSU on Apr. 15, working a season-long 7.2 innings and striking out a season-high six in suffering a 6-3 setback (10 H, 6 R, 1 BB). * Tied a career-high with seven strikeouts in earning the win at Vanderbilt (6.1 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 2 BB) on April 28.

Allowed an unearned run in the first when Michael Brown reached base safely on an error by second baseman Clint Farrar to begin the game and later scored on Jason Burkley's RBI single ...
