EUGENE, Ore. - Ole Miss senior Savante' Stringfellow won his third-straight NCAA Long Jump Championship on Thursday by leaping 27-1.75 . Stringfellow was the defending NCAA Outdoor Champion after winning last year's competition and also won the 2001 NCAA Indoor Long Jump title. He is the first Rebel to win three NCAA track titles.

"This is a really great feat for Savante'," said Ole Miss head coach Joe Walker. "He has made a practice of performing his best at the big meets and this was just another example of that. It was great to see him have such a fine performance in his last meet representing Ole Miss."

Stringfellow, who competed at the 2000 Olympic games, had three jumps over 27 feet, all of which would have won the title. He defeated rival Walter Davis of LSU, after surrendering the SEC Outdoor title to Davis earlier in May.

Ole Miss senior Teneeshia Jones extended her Lady Rebel career at least one more day by advancing in the 100-meter dash competition. Jones clocked in at 11.45 in her qualifying race and will compete in Friday's 100-meter dash semi-finals.
