Teneeshia Jones Finishes Fifth At NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Ole Miss senior Teneeshia Jones captured her eighth overall All-American honor by placing fifth in the 100 meters at the 2001 NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday. Jones clocked in at 11.41 to take collect her fourth All-American honor of the 2001 season. Jones earned All-American honors in the 60 meters, 60-meter hurdles and 200 meters at the 2001 NCAA Indoor Championships in March.
"Once again Teneeshia has performed well going up against the top competition in the country," said Ole Miss head coach Joe Walker. "She has had a tremendous career at Ole Miss. Her legacy will live on for many years to come."
Jones finished her Lady Rebel career with eight of her own Ole Miss records and is a part of two more. She has five indoor records (50 meters, 50-meter hurdles, 60 meters, 60-meter hurdles and 200 meters) and five outdoor records (100 meters, 100-meter hurdles, 200 meters, 4x100-meter relay, 4x200-meter relay). She will return to Eugene, Ore., later in June to compete at the US Championships.
