Oxford, Miss. - With storm clouds rolling in from the south, the Ole Miss Rebels enjoyed the slightly cooler conditions as they continued working out in shorts and shoulder pads in preparation for Saturday's season opener with Murray State.

The emphasis early was on the play of the special teams, with kickers and return men working on perfecting their roles in the game.

Following the special teams drills, Ole Miss head coach David Cutcliffe put his team through a game dress rehearsal while fine tuning the game plan for Saturday.

"Most of it's team focus at this point in time, and Friday will be a walk-through, going through substitutions and last-minute reminders. More importantly, we'll start getting into the mental preparation. Thursday's are typically a day we use as a dress rehearsal for Saturday."

The bottom line according to the coaching staff is that the Rebels are ready to line up against an opponent and see what they can do on the field.

"This team is anxious to play a real game," Cutcliffe said. "We will continue mental preparations the rest of the week to make sure we get lined up in the right places and take care of our business so we are ready on Saturday."

Ole Miss will take the field against Murray State on Saturday, Sept. 1, at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/Hollingsworth Field. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. All fans are asked to enter the stadium by the gate indicated on their ticket due to construction of the south end zone expansion.
