LADY REBEL GAME NOTES

LADY REBELS HOST WILDCATS ON THURSDAY: The Lady Rebels (10-12, 2-7) will be looking to get back in the win column after falling at LSU, 81-70, on Sunday. Ole Miss went 1-1 last week with a win over No.23-ranked Auburn, 63-53, and the loss at No.25-ranked LSU. Ole Miss will take on Kentucky (8-13, 1-8) at 7 p.m., Thursday in Tad Smith Coliseum.

ALDY IN FIFTH YEAR: Ron Aldy is in his fifth year (66-73 at Ole Miss, 145-113 all-time) at the helm of the Lady Rebel basketball program. After having achieved success on every level as either a head coach or an assistant coach, Aldy has used his knowledge and love of the game to bring the storied Ole Miss basketball program back to national prominence. He has dedicated himself to making Ole Miss a winner on and off the court. Aldy has guided the Lady Rebels to postseason play in two of his four seasons in Oxford. He led Ole Miss to a 17-13 overall record and a trip to the WNIT in 2000-01. Off the court, the Lady Rebels have made tremendous strides academically and in the community, as well. Ole Miss has placed six players on the SEC Academic Honor Roll in each of the last three seasons. Since Aldy came to Oxford, all of his outgoing seniors have received their bachelor's degrees with the exception of one, who will graduate in December. Aldy and his staff have seen to it that the Lady Rebels get involved in the Oxford community. The Ole Miss players have helped build a community playground, visited the elderly and participated in many other activities in the area.

LADY REBELS ON SUPERTALK MISSISSIPPI 105.5 FM: This season the Lady Rebel games will be broadcast on WTNM Supertalk Mississippi (105.5 FM), with each broadcast beginning 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tip-off. Brad Daniels is in his first season as the "Voice of the Lady Rebels". Daniels currently serves as news and sports director at WQLJ-FM 93.7 in Oxford.

OLE MISS FALLS TO #25 LSU: The Lady Rebels played a strong first half against No. 25 LSU as they hit 6-of-12 three points shots and trailed at the half by just one point at 37-36. Ole Miss hit an eight minute scoring drought at the start the second half that proved to be too much to overcome as LSU outscored the Lady Rebels 19-3 during that span. Despite being down by as many as 16 last in the second half, Ole Miss never gave up and cut the lead to seven with just under a minute to play. Von Kirk hit a three with 48 seconds remaining but it was nullifed by an illegal screen, sending LSU to the free throw line instead. The Lady Tigers hit their free throws down the stretch for the 81-70 victory. Freshmen Ally Kelly and Carletta Brown, along with Kirk led Ole Miss in the game. Kelly had 19 points, Brown had 16 points and five assists and Kirk had 14 points. Kelly and Kirk both tallied four rebounds to lead UM on the boards.

SCOUTING KENTUCKY: The Wildcats of Kentucky are mired in a seven-game losing streak entering Thursday's contest at Ole Miss. See page three for a boxscore from the last meeting between the two schools.
