OXFORD, Miss. -
The No. 11 ranked Ole Miss men's tennis team will play six of its next seven matches at home beginning with a rematch against 24th-ranked Indiana State on Wednesday. The match will start at 11 a.m. at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.
The Rebels come into the match with a 7-3 overall record. They are coming off a 5-2 win over 28th-ranked Vanderbilt on Sunday. With the win, head coach Billy Chadwick earned his 300th career victory with the Rebels.
"We are looking forward to being at home for awhile, after opening up conference play with four road matches," Chadwick said. "We want to encourage all fans in the Oxford area for spring break to come out and support the Rebels."
Indiana State enters the match with a 6-5 overall record. They lost to 17th-ranked Ohio State 5-2 in their last match, March 7. The Sycamores are led by 75th-ranked Stefan Hirn and 74th-ranked Vedran Vidovic.
The two teams met earlier this year in the first round of the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor with Ole Miss winning 4-0. In that match, the Rebels won the doubles point and then took the Nos. 1, 3 and 6 singles positions in straight sets for the win.
Following the ISU match, the Rebels will host 15th-ranked Auburn Friday at 1 p.m. and 18th-ranked Alabama Sunday at 1 p.m., in their first SEC home matches of the season.
