OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss wraps up a five-game softball homestand on Tuesday with in-state foe Jackson State coming to Oxford. The doubleheader begins at 3 p.m. CST at Ole Miss Softball Complex.

Riding their best start ever at 18-8, the Rebels are fresh off a three-game sweep of Kentucky last weekend in their first SEC home series of the year. The Wildcat taming pushed the UM winning streak to seven games, and with a pair of wins Tuesday against JSU, Ole Miss can equal the longest stretch of consecutive victories in school history.

The Rebels' series sweep of UK marked the first in SEC play since the 2000 season and its first three-game sweep since the league went to that format a year ago. It also evened Ole Miss' conference record at 3-3, entering this weekend's Western Division clash at Auburn.

Freshman DeDe Justice batted 4-for-8 with two homers and accounted for nine Rebel runs in the series. Sophomore Andrea Brahs collected six RBI and notched her fourth round-tripper.

All three UM hurlers earned complete-game wins over the weekend including freshman Lindsey Whatley, who recorded her team-high third shutout in the finale to help the Rebels match their 2001 win total after only 26 games.

Jackson State carries a 17-10 overall record into its first ever regular-season meeting with Ole Miss. The two teams did face each other in the Rebels' 2001 fall tournament, with Ole Miss finishing on top, 4-0.

Under the guidance of 1973 UM graduate Jack Lott, the Lady Tigers returned all 13 letterwinners from last year 15-27 squad.

The Rebels are 15-5 in non-conference play this season, and are 7-2 at Ole Miss Softball Complex.
