AUBURN, Ala. - Ole Miss had its softball winning streak end at nine Saturday, as the Rebels dropped both games of a doubleheader at Auburn, 4-0 and 3-0. The nine-game streak tied a three-year-old school record for longest stretch of consecutive victories.

Ole Miss (20-10, 3-5 SEC) tries to salvage the finale of the three-game Southeastern Conference series Sunday at a newly-scheduled time of 1 p.m. CST. The matchup will be televised nationally on FOX Sports Net. The Rebels have won four of five series-finales all-time against the Tigers (25-15, 4-7 SEC).

On Saturday, AU hurlers Kristin Keyes and Jen Lofton quieted the Rebel bats that had totaled 32 runs in their previous two games. The duo held Ole Miss to six hits combined in the twin bill.

Lofton and Rebel righthander Lindsay Price dueled in game two with each pitcher surrendering only four hits each. However, the Tigers got solo home runs by Ashley Moore and Kasey Angulo in pulling out the 3-0 victory. Angulo was 4-for-7 with three RBI in the doubleheader.

UM freshman Megan Kozar batted 2-for-3 for her fifth multiple-hit game, while Nicole Alger and Britte Hardy picked up the other Rebel hits.

Lofton (9-8) struck out eight in the win, while Price (5-3) recorded her seventh complete game of the season in the losing effort.

In game one, Keyes (11-7) hurled a two-hit shutout, collecting a career-high 10 strikeouts. Offensively, Shannon Anderson led the way for Auburn, batting 3-for-4 and scoring twice.

After four scoreless innings, the Tigers plated three runs in the fifth on an Angulo RBI-double and a pair of sacrifice-fly balls by Sara Dean and Kelly Sutton. Dean doubled home an insurance run in the sixth.

For Ole Miss, Brooke Turner notched her fourth double of the year, while Alger collected a baseknock in each game to continue her hot hitting. Lindsey Whatley (6-4) suffered the complete-game loss, allowing nine hits and two unearned runs.
