Softball Lands Hailey Lucas as Transfer

6/27/2026 | Softball

OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss softball program has added another standout arm to the 2027 rotation, signing Hailey Lucas as a transfer.

Lucas joins the Rebels after one season at Southern Illinois and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Lucas quickly made a name for herself in her first collegiate season, leading the Salukis in innings pitched at 116.0. Lucas went 9-7 with a 2.53 ERA, striking out a team-high 94 batters and walking just 28.

Lucas turned in one of her best starts of the season against the Rebels, going 8.0 innings allowing just three hits, before allowing her first and only run in the ninth inning. The game was one of eight complete games on the season for Lucas, who helped the Salukis tally a team ERA of just 2.91 overall.

An accomplished arm out of high school, the Palatine, Ill., native quickly adjusted to the collegiate game, ranking 11th in the MVC in innings pitched.

Lucas joins fellow pitcher Lexie Hames (Clemson) and outfielder Brie Howard (Austin Peay) as new transfers for head coach Jamie Trachsel and the Rebel softball program. The duo is set to join 11 freshmen as newcomers on next season's roster.
