UM Tracksters Travel To California

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's and women's track and field teams will spend the weekend in the sunny confines of California. On Friday the UM tracksters will be in Pomona, Calif., competing in the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. On Sunday, the Rebels and Lady Rebels will travel to Walnut, Calif., to participate in the Mt. SAC Relays.
The Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, hosted by Pomona College will take place April 19th with running events at 8:30 a.m. and field events at 9:00 a.m. The 44th annual Mt. SAC Relays, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College, will be held April 21st with field events slated to kick off at 9:50 a.m. Running events are set to start at 10:00 a.m.
"We are looking forward to competing against some quality competition again this weekend," said Ole Miss head coach Joe Walker. "These are two very tough meets and we are hoping our athletes can rise to the challenge."
Both meets will field many of the top track and field teams from around the country. In addition to Ole Miss, the meet will include SEC members, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt.
