OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss football team hit the practice fields on Tuesday, working on both offensive and defensive drills as they continued their preparation for the 2002 season opener against Louisiana-Monroe. Rebel head coach David Cutcliffe was very impressed with the teams' upbeat tempo.
"I thought we had really good work today," said Cutcliffe. "We got some contact in without being in full pads. The attitudes out there were very good. One of the things I liked most was the we moved around with good speed and tempo. It was very positive work and something to build on."
Ole Miss will make its debut in the newly expanded Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/Hollingsworth Field Saturday evening when the Rebels kickoff their 108th season of football by hosting ULM. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
With the completion of the nearly two-year project to bowl in the south end zone, Ole Miss' home stadium will have a capacity of 60,580. The Ole Miss Ticket Office announced Monday that single-game tickets remain for Saturday's contest with the Indians. The Rebel Shop Ticket Office, located near the stadium, will open at 3 p.m., on Saturday.
