OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss football team completed day two of pre-season drills on Friday, running through a practice session in the morning and another in the evening. The Rebels again worked on conditioning and individual skills, as well as some offensive and defensive scheme work.

Ole Miss head coach David Cutcliffe has been very impressed early on with the attitude of his players.

"I thought we had great energy and enthusiasm out there," said Cutcliffe. "We are throwing a lot at them these first few days, and they are responding very well. We are getting a lot of repetitions in each practice and that is helping everyone."

Ole Miss added shoulder pads to their practice shells at Friday's workouts, but Cutcliffe did not seem to think that it slowed the players down much.

"Shoulder pads tend to weigh the players down a bit," said Cutcliffe. "I think our guys did a good job with them today. It was really hot out there, but their summer conditioning had them very well prepared."

Ole Miss will hit the practice fields twice again on Saturday, before taking a day off on Sunday.
