Ole Miss Cross Country Teams Travel To Southern Miss

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's and women's cross country teams will participate in the 23rd Annual Cross Country Invitational, Friday, Sept. 13, hosted by Southern Miss at the Van Hook Golf Course, pavilion side.
The meet gets underway with the high school girls beginning at 3:30 p.m. in a two-mile run, followed by the high school boys at 4 p.m., running a 5K. The college women will start at approximately 4:30 p.m., in a 5K, and the meet will conclude with the college men running at approximately 5 p.m., in a four-mile race.
"We had a really good showing at last weekend's meet," said Ole Miss head coach Joe Walker. "We are hoping to build on our success and continue improving."
The field features 15 men's and women's college teams, including Alcorn State, Belhaven, Centenary, Jackson State, Louisiana-Monroe, Loyola (N.O.), Millsaps, Mississippi College, New Orleans, Nicholls State, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Miss and Tulane, in addition to Ole Miss.
Last year, the Rebels won the men's race, while the Lady Rebels finished third in the women's contest.
