Ole Miss Tracksters Compete At Tyson Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Ole Miss track and field teams traveled to Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday to compete at the prestigious Tyson Invitational, held on the campus of the University of Arkansas.

Leading the way for the Rebels were senior Stacy Andrews and sophomore Shantel Glass. Andrews finished second among collegiate competitors in the weight throw with his toss of 61-3, while Glass placed fifth in the long jump by leaping 23-0.

Sophomore Antwon Hicks clocked in at third to finish 7.75 in the 60-meter hurdles and senior James Shelton placed seventh in the 60 meters with his time of 6.71.

Freshman Rachel Ellison led the Lady Rebels as she finished second place in the mile run with her time of 5:02.38. The Lady Rebel distance medley relay team finished sixth with a time of 12:53.86.

Ole Miss will take the track again on March 1, when they travel to Gainesville, Fla., for the 2003 SEC Indoor Championships. The SEC Championships will take place in the O'Connell on the University of Florida campus.
