Andrews, Hicks Earn All-American Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior Stacy Andrews and sophomore Antwon Hicks each earned All-America honors at the 2003 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. It was the first All-America honor for Andrews and the second for Hicks.
"I am so excited for both Stacy and Antwon," said Ole Miss head coach Joe Walker. "Stacy has worked hard all four years to get to this point and he is very deserving of the honor. Antwon his such a great competitor. He just continues to get better every day."
Andrews, a native of Camden, Ark., placed fifth in the weight throw with his toss of 68-0.5. The Ole Miss record-holder in the event, Andrews earned his first All-America honor in his first trip to the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Hicks, a Hot Springs, Ark., native, finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with his time of 7.77. Hicks also earned All-America honors at the 2002 NCAA Outdoor Championships by placing fifth in the 110-meter hurdles.
Junior Kendrick Triggs and sophomore Shantel Glass also competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Triggs clocked in at 20.99 in the 200 meters, but did not make finals. Glass placed 15th in the long jump with his mark of 23-1.25.
Ole Miss will begin their outdoor season on March 20, when they travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Alabama Relays.
