TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Senior Stacy Andrews and junior Franz Bernard each captured titles to lead Ole Miss at their season-opening outdoor meet at the Alabama Relays last weekend. Andrews, fresh after earning his first All-America honor at the NCAA Indoor Meet, won the discus title with his toss of 180-7, while Bernard turned a personal best in the 400 meters with his winning time of 47.10.

Junior Kendrick Triggs placed second in the 200 meters among collegiate finishers with his time of 21.26 and sophomore Brandon Atkinson finished second in the triple jump with his personal best mark of 50-10.25. The Rebel 4x200-meter relay team and 1600-meter sprint medley relay team each placed second.

Sophomore Antisha Anderson led a trio of Ole Miss athletes to top finishes in the heptathlon with her second place finish. Anderson totaled 4991 points in the seven events, good for second place at the meet and second place in the Ole Miss record books. Sophomore LaToya McBride was right behind Anderson as she collected a personal best 4818 points and took fourth place. Sophomore Kesia Bass finished in fifth place with 4720 points.

Sophomore Octavia Carter had a strong meet as she finished third in the high jump (5-5) and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (14.27).
