Ole Miss Announces The Signing Of Itawamba C.C. Standout

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss baseball signed Itawamba Community College's Reed Hawkins to a national letter of intent, head coach Mike Bianco announced Thursday.
Hawkins, 5-feet-11, 200 pounds from Tupelo, Miss., played both second base and catcher for Itawamba and helped the Indians advance to this year's NJCAA Division II World Series. He batted .356 with 18 doubles, 21 home runs and 73 runs batted in.
"We're excited that Reed has decided to come to Ole Miss," said Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco. "He had a tremendous year offensively this past season and we think he is someone that will be able to help the middle of our order."
Ole Miss finished its third season under Bianco with a 35-27 mark, earning a berth to the NCAA Houston Regionals.
