Ole Miss is looking to get back in the win column when they take on New Orleans on Wednesday. Game time is slated for 11 a.m., in Tad Smith Coliseum.
The Lady Rebels are 2-2 under the direction of second-year head coach Carol Ross. Ross, who played at Ole Miss from 1979-82, earned SEC Co-Coach of the Year honors in 2004 after guiding Ole Miss back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight seasons.
Ole Miss fell 72-69 to SMU in the Hoops for the Cure Classic finals on Saturday. Senior Amber Watts (14.5) leads the team in scoring, while sophomore Armintie Price adds 13.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Price earned All-Tournament honors at the Hoops for the Cure Classic.
New Orleans enters Wednesday's contest with an 0-4 record after opening the season with losses to Mississippi State (91-50), Louisiana-Monroe (60-46), Nicholls State (65-55) and McNeese State (71-52). Senior forward Tomesia Wintson leads the Lady Privateers in scoring and rebounding with 14.8 points and 9.5 boards per game.
New Orleans is under the direction of first-year head coach Amy Champion. Champion, who is a Delta State graduate, owns an 0-4 record at New Orleans. Her overall Division I head coaching record is the same.
