OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss men's tennis player David Donaldson was among the 2003 initiates into Phi Kappa Phi academic honor society. Induction ceremonies were held Thursday afternoon on the University of Mississippi campus.

Donaldson, who is traveling with the men's tennis team this weekend, is a member of the Honors College and holds a perfect 4.0 grade point average. He helped lead the Rebels to their second consecutive SEC Western Division Championship in 2003 and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight. This year the Rebels are off to their best start (16-1, 7-0) in the history of the program.

"We are extremely proud of David," head coach Billy Chadwick said. "He exemplifies the true meaning of the word student-athlete. We are excited that he is being recognized as one of the top students at the University."

The Rebels, ranked No. 3 in the nation, are in Columbia, S.C., preparing to take on South Carolina Friday at 1 p.m. On Sunday, the team will face No. 13 Florida in Gainesville. Ole Miss will be going for its third straight SEC Western Division Championship this weekend.
