OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss sophomore right-hander Mark Holliman was named the Southeastern Conference's Pitcher of the Week after throwing a three-hit shutout in a 1-0 win over No. 8 Arkansas last Friday, the conference office announced Monday.

Holliman, 6-feet-1, 187 pounds from Germantown, Tenn., used just 98 pitches to shutdown the Razorbacks as he faced the minimum 27 batters in the game. He did not allow a walk while striking out seven, and did not allow an Arkansas runner to reach second base.

"Mark was just outstanding in his start last Friday against Arkansas," said Ole Miss Head Coach Mike Bianco. "There were several great pitching performances around the conference this past weekend, so it's a great honor for Mark to be recognized."

For the season, Holliman is 7-2 with a 2.33 ERA in 12 starts. He has also recorded 79 strikeouts while walking only 22 in 81.0 innings.

In this week's college baseball polls, Ole Miss moved up one spot to No. 11 in this week's Baseball America Top 25. The Rebels also jumped two places to No. 12 in the Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches Top 25, while remaining at No. 18 in the Collegiate Baseball Top 30.

Ole Miss is 35-15 on the season, including 14-10 in the SEC. The Rebels will enter this weekend's series at Florida, trailing both the Gators and Razorbacks by two games in the overall conference standings. The series against the Gators will open Friday evening at 5:30 p.m., at McKethan Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.
