OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss football team returned to the twice-a-day format on Friday, working out in pads in the morning and then holding a light workout in the evening in preparation for Saturday's scrimmage before the annual "Meet the Rebels Day." The team continued working offense against defense in the morning session, which was moved inside the stadium after rain made the practice fields unplayable. The Rebels practiced in head gear only for the evening session and didn't go as long as normal due to Saturday's scrimmage. Head coach David Cutcliffe was pleased with the team's effort. "I thought the team's spirit was good," Cutcliffe said. "We had some good contact work. I hated to have to change venues halfway through practice, but I felt like the field was really unstable after we got out there. I would have hated to have to do the full speed work that we did at the end on those fields." While he is pleased with the effort, Cutcliffe did note the team's fatigue after working 11 straight days in preseason. "We've been out here 11 days in a row, so there is going to be some fatigue," Cutcliffe said. "They are sore and tired. We have some people out, which increases the number of reps for the remaining players." The Rebels will welcome fans to campus for "Meet the Rebels Day" in the Grove Saturday. Incase of inclement weather, the players will sign autographs underneath the East side stands.
