Ole Miss will be searching for their first win over Vanderbilt in 12 attempts when the Lady Rebels play host to the #15/17Commodores on Thursday. Game time is set for 7 p.m., at Tad Smith Coliseum.
The Lady Rebels are 11-5, 1-2 under the direction of second-year head coach Carol Ross. Ross, who played at Ole Miss from 1979-82, earned SEC Co-Coach of the Year honors in 2004 after guiding Ole Miss back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight seasons.
Sophomore Armintie Price continues to lead Ole Miss in scoring at 15.9 points per game. She also leads the Lady Rebels and the SEC in rebounding with 10.0 boards per game. Senior Amber Watts is adding 12.8 points per game and has a team best 31 blocks.
#15/17Vanderbilt enters Thursday's game with a 13-3 record after falling to Tennessee at home on Sunday. The Commodores are 2-1 in conference play with wins over Auburn and South Carolina.
VU is led by senior forward Ashley Earley with 18.8 points and 8.6 boards per game. Sophomore center Carla Thomas adds 15.7 points and 6.3 caroms per contest. VU leads the SEC and ranks second in the nation in scoring with 83.1 points per game.
Vanderbilt head coach Melanie Balcomb is 61-21 in her third season with the Commodores. Her overall coaching record stands at 224-125 in her 12th year in the business.
