Game Notes

Ole Miss will be looking to open SEC play with a win on the road at #17/16 Georgia on Thursday. The Lady Rebels will be searching for their seventh-straight victory when they tip-off against the Lady Bulldogs at 6 p.m. (CT) in Stegemen Coliseum.

The Lady Rebels are 10-3 under the direction of second-year head coach Carol Ross. Ross, who played at Ole Miss from 1979-82, earned SEC Co-Coach of the Year honors in 2004 after guiding Ole Miss back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight seasons.

Sophomore Armintie Price led Ole Miss to victory in their final non-conference game with 22 points and 13 rebounds in the Lady Rebels' 82-54 win over Memphis on Monday. Senior Amber Watts returned to the court after missing a game due to a death in the family. Watts posted 10 points and seven rebounds in just 13 minutes of play.

Georgia enters Thursday's game with a 11-3 overall mark and a 1-0 record in conference play. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Arkansas 78-57 on Dec. 30 in their SEC opener.

The Lady Bulldogs are led by freshman Tasha Humphrey, who is the current SEC Player of the Week, with 18.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Sophomore Cori Chambers is averaging 14.1 points and 4.3 rebounds.

Georgia head coach Andy Landers is 621-192 in his 26th season with the Lady Bulldogs. Landers' overall coaching record is 703-213 in nearly 30 years.
