SERIES INFORMATION

Today's meeting was the 30th all-time between the Rebels and Tigers dating back to 1928.

Auburn holds a 22-8 advantage in the series and boasts a 10-2 edge in games on the Plains.

The teams have split the last four meetings at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

FIRST-TIME STARTERS
OFFENSE: #21 Jamal Pittman (Jr.) earned his first career start at FB ... Pittman's only other start was at RB against Memphis in the season opener.

REBEL NOTEBOOK

Today's game was only the Rebels' second of the season in which they did not score first.

On a Matt Hinkle 43-yard FG, Ole Miss scored in the second quarter for the second straight game, after falling to post points in the second stanza of the first six games.

After accumulating over 32 minutes in time of possession in three straight games, Ole Miss was limited to 25:26 TOP against Auburn ... It marked the fourth game this season to be under 26:00 in time of possession.

Ole Miss fell to 0-3 vs. ranked teams this year.

OFFENSIVE NOTES

Senior WR Mike Espy finished one short of his career high for receptions with nine catches for 63 yards.

Junior QB Ethan Flatt saw his first action of the year ... Flatt finished 11-of-17 for 81 yards.

Senior RB Brandon Jacobs saw his first action since the season opener at Memphis and had two carries.

Senior QB Micheal Spurlock failed to toss a TD pass for the first time in the last four games ... His 105 passing yards was his least in a start this season.

The Rebels failed to score a TD for the first time this season ... The three points scored was Ole Miss' fewest since last year's 35-3 loss at Arkansas.

The 23 net yards on the ground is Ole Miss' least since rushing for four yards against Alabama in 2002 ... The Rebels were held under 70 yards rushing for the fourth time this season.

Ole Miss' 209 total yards of offense was its least since managing 192 yards in last year's Alabama game.

DEFENSIVE NOTES

The Ole Miss defense registered a season-high four QB sacks today ... The Rebels have totaled seven sacks over the last two games.

Junior LB Patrick Willis posted a career-high 13 solo tackles on the afternoon ... Willis also made his third sack and eighth TFL of the year ... Willis has recorded at least 13 total tackles in each of his six complete games of play.

Senior DT MicKinley Boykin notched a career-high three QB pressures and matched his career-best for total tackles with seven, along with two TFLs and a QB sack.

Senior DE Corvelli Haynes matched his career-high for tackles with six along with a forced fumble.

Senior NT Michael Bozeman posted two QB pressures and four solo stops.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES

Sophomore K Matt Hinkle connected a FG of 40-plus yards for the second straight game with a 43-yarder in the second quarter.

The pre-game flight today was made by Nova from the northeast corner of the stadium.

Ole Miss won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. Auburn chose to receive and Ole Miss chose to defend the north end zone.

Game attendance was announced as 85,791.

Auburn is now owns a 22-8 advantage in the series vs. Ole Miss and has won two straight, five of the last six, 11 of the last 13 and 20 of the last 23.

Auburn has now won eight consecutive SEC home games and 10 of its last 11.

Auburn is now 33-12 against SEC schools since 2000.

Auburn now owns a 248-60-7 record in 66 years of football at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Tigers are 34-6 at Jordan-Hare over the past six seasons.

Auburn is now 50-4 under Tommy Tuberville when scoring 20 or more points.

Ole Miss finished with just 23 yards rushing. It marks the seventh time in the last nine meetings that Auburn has held Ole Miss to fewer than 100 yards rushing.

Ole Miss passed for 186 yards. The Auburn defense has not allowed an opponent to throw for 200 yards in a game this season.

Auburn did not score on its opening possession. The Tigers have now scored on their opening drive three times in eight games (two touchdowns, one field goal).

The first quarter ended in a scoreless tie. It marked the first time this season that Auburn played in a scoreless first quarter. It was also the third time in eight games that Auburn did not score during the opening period.

Auburn scored first on a 28-yard pass from Courtney Taylor to Devin Aromashodu in the second quarter. It was the fifth time this season that the Tigers have scored first, and Auburn is now 4-0 when scoring first.

Auburn outscored Ole Miss 13-3 in the second quarter, extending Auburn's second-quarter scoring advantage to 92-17 this season.

Auburn led 13-3 at the half. The Tigers are now 4-0 when leading at the half.

Auburn outscored Ole Miss 7-0 in the third quarter, and now has a 65-10 scoring advantage in the third quarter this season.

The Auburn defense held Ole Miss to just three points, marking the fourth game this season the Tigers have held opponents to single digits (Mississippi State 28-0, Ball State 63-3 and South Carolina 48-7).

In SEC play this season, the Auburn defense has allowed its first five opponents just 47 total points, an average of 9.4 per game.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

OT Troy Reddick extended his consecutive starts streak to 34 games, while FS Will Herring (32), TE Cooper Wallace (27), NG T.J.

Jackson (21) and OG Ben Grubbs (21) also extended lengthy starting streaks.

Redshirt freshman SS Steve Gandy made the first start of his career.

RB Kenny Irons ran for 101 yards on 32 carries, giving him over 100 yards rushing for a third consecutive game. The last Auburn back to run for over 100 yards in three consecutive games was Carnell Williams in 2003 (185 vs. Tennessee, 150 at Arkansas, 164 vs. Mississippi State).

WR Ben Obomanu caught his 17th career touchdown pass in the third quarter, giving him 17 for his career, which ties him for second in Auburn history with Karsten Bailey (1995-98).

Obomanu finished with two catches, moving his career total to 86, which ranks 13th in Auburn history.

WR Courtney Taylor finished with three catches for 39 yards, moving him up to seventh on Auburn's career receptions list with 94 and 10th on the career receiving yardage list with 1332 yards.

Courtney Taylor's 28-yard touchdown pass to WR Devin Aromashodu in the second quarter was his first pass thrown during his collegiate career, and the first by any Auburn wideout since Tim Carter completed a 39-yard pass to Marcel Willis in 2000 at Florida.

WR Prechae Rodriguez had three catches, tying his career high, for a career-best 55 yards.

QB Brandon Cox finished with 205 yards passing. It is the sixth time in seven games that Cox has thrown for at least 200 yards.

K John Vaughn's two field goals in the second quarter were the 27th and 28th of his career, moving him into eighth place on Auburn's career field goals made list.

Vaughn's second field goal was a 39-yarder, which ties his season long.

Vaughn's nine points pushed his career total to 196, moving him up one spot to fourth on Auburn's chart for most points kicking. Vaughn also moved into second place in Auburn history in extra points made with 112.

P Kody Bliss punted two times, pushing his career total to 134 and moving him into 10th on Auburn's career punts chart.

DE Marquies Gunn finished with three tackles for losses, which is a new career high, including a quarterback sack.

RB Carl Stewart's 25-yard pass reception in the first quarter was the longest reception of his career.

Devin Aromashodu's touchdown catch was his fourth of the season and the ninth of his career.

Steve Gandy had his first career interception in the second quarter, and returned it 29 yards. Gandy's 29-yard return was the longest this season by an Auburn player.

Tre Smith's 25-yard punt return in the third quarter was his longest return of the season.

Ben Obomanu's 27-yard run in the fourth quarter was the longest rush of his career.

Kenny Irons' fourth quarter touchdown was the first rushing touchdown of the game.
