Ole Miss Cross Country Finishes Third at Saluki Invitational

Carbondale, Ill. - The Ole Miss cross country team competed in the Saluki Invitational Saturday, hosted by Southern Illinois University.
Sophomore Kyle Lewis (Bay St. Louis, Miss.) led the way for the Ole Miss runners, with a time of 25:20.62, which placed him fourth in the men's results. The Lady Rebels were led by junior Shannon Chandler (Germantown, Tenn.), with a time of 19:01.64 (12th overall).
The Ole Miss men placed third overall, with a team score of 98. The Lady Rebels finished sixth, with a team score of 145.
Following Lewis for the Rebel men, other runners were Justin Jernigan (25:45.95, 8th), Steven Clevenger (26:39.93, 27th), Seth Conerly (26:54.20, 34th), Matthew Merritt (27:03.51, 40th), Devin Darnall (27:17.73, 50th), Mike Atkins (28:08.67, 67th), Bryce McKay (28:35.77, 77th) and Julio Quintana (29:41.61, 86th).
Following Chandler for the Ole Miss women, other runners were Micah Pioreck (19:36.32, 23rd), Samantha Mazer (19:45.31, 26th), Lindsey Doucett (20:06.53, 39th), Kay Sanford (21:08.78, 66th), Carolyn Hill (22:26.15, 84th) and Cassie Kipper (23:48.19, 86th).
Ole Miss heads to Columbia, S.C.on October, 29, to compete in the SEC Cross Country Championships.
