TUNICA, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's golf team collected a 10th place finish at the first-ever Tunica National Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Led by junior Kyle Ellis' 72-76-78--226, the Rebels closed out the tournament with a 308-312-313--933.

"The conditions were really tough throughout the tournament," said Ole Miss head coach Ernest Ross. "We need to get better at battling adverse weather. The guys tried their best, but after dealing with the weather they did not have much fight left."

Ellis was Ole Miss' top finisher as he tied for sixth place in the individual standings. Sophomore Jamie Howarth finished in a tie for 39th place. Howarth, who was competing as an individual, shot 81-79-75--235 for the tournament. Junior Chris Rogers was the next best finisher for the Rebels as he tied for 42nd place. Rogers shot a 76-78-82--236 for the two-day tourney.

Freshman Larry Blatt tied for 52nd place with his three-round total of 79-79-80--238. Next up for Ole Miss was junior Callum Macaulay in 54th place. Macaulay carded a three-round total 81-79-79--239. Freshman Will Roebuck rounded out the scoring for the Rebels as he tallied a 83-82-76--241 and finished in 56th place.

Edward McGlasson of Colorado was the individual tournament winner as he posted a three-round total of 72-72-76--220. Michael Thompson of Tulane was just one stroke behind McGlasson with his tournament tally of 71-76-74--221. Logan Young of Mississippi State finished in third place with his point total of 67-76-79--222. Young's first round mark of 67 was the tournament low.

Southern Methodist took home the team title. The Mustangs carded a 300-302-303--905 for the three-round tournament. Belmont University took home second place as the Bruins posted a tournament total of 306-310-291--907. The Bruins' third round mark of 291 was a the tournament low.

The Tunica National Intercollegiate was the final tournament of the fall season for the Rebels. They will open the spring season on February 13, when they travel to Orlando, Fla., for the UCF-Rio Pinar Intercollegiate.
