Rebels Wrap Up First Day At Seminole Intercollegiate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Ole Miss men's golf team is in ninth place after the first day of competition Sunday at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla., after scoring an opening round 299.
The Rebels wrapped up the first day at the par-72 course at the Golden Eagle Country Club eight shots behind leader Coastal Carolina (291). The Rebels' 299 is 11-over-par.
The top first-round score for Ole Miss was registered by senior Jordan Dempsey, who carded a 1-over 73, good for a tie for 11th. He is four shots back of co-leaders Rhys Davies of East Tennessee State and Kevin O'Connell of Virginia.
Other scores for the Rebels on Sunday included a 74 by senior Lucas Boyd and 76s by sophomores Brice Bailey and Kyle Ellis and senior Ryan Michals.
Bailey is in the Rebel lineup for the first time this spring.
Play will continue Monday morning with an 8 a.m. tee times to start the second round.
