Coming into the 18th annual Tournament of Champions, the lowest-team-round ever was a 274 by N.C. State in 1998. The 2005 Tennessee squad surpassed that number twice. Tennessee shot a 268 in the opening round to gain an 11-stroke advantage over the field, and after pushing that lead to 18 strokes after two rounds, recorded a 272 in the final round for its final winning margin of 32. Tennessee's overall tournament score 268-278-272-818 sets a new low three-round score for the TOC. The previous three-round team low was 840 by Georgia in 2002.
The Rebels will return to the links on Friday, Sept. 23, when they travel to West Point, Miss., for the Magnolia Cup.
