MEMPHIS, Tenn. Ole Miss sophomore Will Roebuck and senior Callum Macaulay finished day one of the Memphis Intercollegiate Monday, in the top 25, to lead the Rebels at the Par 72, 7,249 yard historic Colonial Country Club’s South Course. The South Course at one time hosted the FedEx St. Jude PGA Tour event.
Roebuck, who led the Rebels in qualifying, fired an opening round 76 and then came back to shoot a two-under 70 for a 146 and stands in a tie for 19th heading into the final round. Macaulay, who took third in the Rebels’ first tournament, fired a 75-72147 to finish tied for 25th after two rounds.
As a team, the Rebels are tied for 13th with a 304-295599. Louisville leads the field by a considerable margin with a 563. Wisconsin and TCU are tied for second at 576. Kyle Simmons of South Alabama finished at 138 and leads South Florida’s Tyler Hitchcock, who shot the low round of the day (65), by one.
The final round will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
