FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP) - Shay Doron had 23 points and seven assists to help No. 1 Maryland defeat Ole Miss 110-79 on Saturday night in the Junkanoo Jam title game. Doron made 9-of-11 shots from the field, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc on her way to MVP honors.

The Terrapins opened the game on a 9-0 run, but Ole Miss got on track with a bucket by freshman guard Alliesha Easley and quickly cut the lead to five at 19-14. Behind Easley and freshman guard Shantell Black, Ole Miss made it a back and forth affair to the midway point of the first half, before Maryland took over on the boards and from the foul line to extend its lead to 56-35 at the half.

Laura Harper scored 19 points and Crystal Langhorne had 17 points and 13 rebounds as all five starters posted double figures for the defending NCAA champions Terrapins (7-0).

Sophomore center Shawn Goff, who was named to the all-tournament team, led Ole Miss with 18 points and nine rebounds. Easley finished with 15 points and Black had 13. Black also had four assists and four steals. Ole Miss senior Armintie Price finished with nine points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Ole Miss will return to action on Dec. 2, when they play host to Illinois in Tad Smith Coliseum.
