LAFAYETTE, La. - Memphis defeated Ole Miss 11-0 on Sunday, the final day of the Louisiana Classics hosted by the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Memphis (2-1) took advantage of seven Ole Miss errors en route to seven of their 11 runs being unearned.

Bridgette McNulty was 3-for-4 for Memphis with two runs scored and two RBI.

Junior transfer Cathie Hacker took the loss for the Rebels, who fell to 2-2 overall. Senior Dana Brill came in relief of Hacker after one out in the second and gave up one earned run in 3 2/3 innings pitched.

Three Ole Miss wild pitches and a passed ball helped seal the victory for the Lady Tigers in the geographical rivals' first-ever meeting. This is the first year of intercollegiate fastpitch softball at Memphis.
