Ole Miss Stays On Road, Take On Arkansas State

THE COACHES:

Arkansas State -- Keith Kessinger (Ole Miss, 1989) has led the Indianns for the past three seasons. Over that time, the former Ole Miss standout has turned the Arkansas State program into a formidable opponent. He has led the Indians to a winning record over his alma mater in meetings since he took over the helm of the program in Jonesboro four years ago.

Ole Miss -- Mike Bianco (LSU, 1989) is in his sixth season with the Rebels. He is 208-115-1 (.644 winning pct.) at Ole Miss and has a career record of 308-186-1 (.623 winning pct.) in his ninth year as a collegiate head coach. Bianco led the Rebels to the first regular season championship in 23 years with an SEC Western Division Co-Championship in 2005.

UM- Brett Bukvich (RS-Fr., LHP, 1-2, 13.0 IP, 2.08 ERA)

NOTING BUKVICH: Bukvich enters Tuesday night's matchup having won his last outing against Murray State. Bukvich has struck out 13 while walking only three on the season. In his 13.0 innings of work, the red-shirt freshman has given up 11 runs, but only three earned on 16 hits. Bukvich started the last game against Arkansas State, a 14-9 loss that saw Bukvich work a tough second inning, allowing 10 runs as Rebel errors allowed the Indians to mount a rally and come back from a three-spot put up by Ole Miss in the first inning.

LAST TIME OUT:

Ole Miss suffered a 6-4 loss at the hands of the UCLA Bruins on Sunday despite pounding out 11 hits on the day. The Rebels went 1-2 for the series, dropping the first weekend series of the season. Jon-Jon Hancock led the Rebels at the plate, hitting .444 with a double and an RBI. Zack Cozart and Justin Brashear were the power hitters in the series as both notched home runs. Cozart tallied four RBI and scored four runs against the Bruins. Stoney Stone picked up the lone win on the weekend as he came in to relieve Satterwhite on Saturday. Garrett White picked up his second save of the season on Saturday.

ON DECK:

Ole Miss returns home this weekend to open Southeastern Conference play against the Vanderbilt Commodores (9-6). Vanderbilt won last season's series in Nashville two games to one. The Commodores have a two-game midweek series this week before traveling to Oxford for the opening conference weekend.
